Los Angeles-born, New York City-based actor & journalist.
McKenna Dixon
McKenna Dixon is committed to using her voice for good as an actor and multimedia journalist of Latin descent. Across mediums, her work is grounded in deep observation, desire to connect, and care for the story.
Growing up in Los Angeles, nourished by the sun and family close by, McKenna found a warmth and go-with-the-flow kind of groove that has inspired her to joyfully try new things – from competitive swimming, to softball, to ballet, to calligraphy. She believes in exploring the multifaceted identities and interests that comprise a person, and she’s gotten to do just that in New York City.
McKenna graduated magna cum laude from Fordham University at Lincoln Center, where she earned dual degrees in Theatre and Journalism. During a semester abroad, she also earned a certificate in Classical Acting from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).
Her training has led her to perform heightened texts by Lorca, Brecht, and Shakespeare, as well as contemporary works in which she has originated new characters. McKenna’s appreciation for various types of theatre – and her desire to express it – ignited her newest exploration of the arts and culture, as a reporter.
Her multimedia journalism has since been featured in The Observer, Both Sides Now, and on BronxNet.
Most recently, McKenna performed Off-Broadway in Pas de Trois, or the Dancing Witch Play at Classic Stage Company and in a bilingual production of La Casa de Bernarda Alba at The Producers’ Club.
Whether it’s a rehearsal, an interview, or just a good conversation, McKenna loves sharing meaningful moments with people, developing ideas, and evolving with it all.
She’s always moving and grooving.
